Sauron

This piece made out of hornbeam is my interpretation of the eye of Sauron in the lord of the rings. It has been turned and hollowed on the lathe. The carving of the cloth has been made with power tools, gouges and sanpaper. The inlay in the center is also turned and hollowed, then carved with pyrography, dyied with Indian ink and acrylic. Hard oil was used for the cloth. This sculpture is a mural.
