Steampunk Gardian Angel

This piece was made in collaboration with Joss Naigeon, a woodturner located in Saou, Drôme. She invited me for the European days of art and craft (JEMA in French) to demonstrate in her workshop and work with her during three days. This little gardian angel is the first result. She turned the body using 3 axes, out of boxwood, and the wings out of fig tree. She gave me the wings to carve using pyrography to create a steampunk texture, then I dyied it using Indian ink and gilding wax. The wings are attached to the body using a small ebony pin.
