This piece made out of ash has been turned and hollowed on the lathe. The cloth effect has been carved using powertools and gouges, then sanded and sandblasted to highlight the grain of the wood. The central piece is also turned and hollowed, the inside has been dyied red with spirit stain and the outside has been textured using pyrography, dyied with Indian ink and painted with acrylic using the dry bush technique.
