This piece in Persian olive was a collaboration with american woodturner and sculptor Trent Bosch. Trent turned and hollowed the vase, and carved facets that he spray painted with different colors. He sanded the edges to go back to the colors underneath. He also left an empty space for me to use my own technique. I then took the piece and started carving a steampunk design using pyrography. The pattern was dyied with Indian ink and gilding wax to make it look like metal.
