Ploc! is a piece that I submitted for the POP (Professional Outreach Program) exhibition in Portland, Oregon for the AAW symposium. The theme was « Out of the Woods – Traditional Form Revisited », and with this piece I wanted to revisit the japanese teapot.
The teapots are made out of ash, sandblasted, dyed with indian ink and gilding wax. The handles are made with a wire and a black string and also dyed with indian ink and gilding wax. The drops are made with different woods, ash, mapple, yew, bass wood, boxwood root…
