The USSAR (Urban Sculptures) series is a series of pieces that I created originaly by recycling leftover pieces with interesting shapes after using the bandsaw. I developped those pieces to become less of a recycling but a series in itself, creating design shapes, inspired by architecture and buildings, then using shaps from my imagination. I usually cut a piece, sand it, sometimes apply some color, or finish, then I cut those stripes at the bandsaw. Those cut give the piece a new design, playing with colors if the piece as been painted, playing with the pattern of the light passing through, and gives the wood a very impressive flexibility when they are very close.
