Chimeira and daughter

Duo vue de face
Duo de chimères vue de face

My chimeiras are a species of fish that can stand up on their tails. They are turned on the lathe, and carved out of the lathe for the lips and the tails. Then the piece is cut at different angles and glued back differently to bend the tails so they can stand up. The white one was textured with a woodburner and the other one was sandblasted and dyied with Indian ink and gilding wax.
