This teapot as been made in collaboration with american woodturner and artist Kailee Bosch from Colorado. It is made out of laminated books (white parts) and cherry for the metal imitation parts. Kailee made the block of wood and books that she turned and hollowed to make the body of the teapot. The lid is a piece of oak, covered with a thin sheet of metalspunned patinated copper. The handle she cast in bronze and patinated. She then sent me the teapot with the wooden parts untouched for me to carve. I created this steampunk design using a woodburner and powertools, and dyed with Indian ink and gilding wax to create this metallic effetc. I finally sent the teapot back to her, she assembled all the parts to finish this piece.
