This piece from the Rift series was turned and roughly carved during a remote demonstration for the United States. Because it was supposed to be an instructionnal piece, I named it « Showing the rope » and that inspired me to do the type of ropes carving on the insert. After the demonstration I finished carving it properly, I sanded it, dyed it and waxed it. The insert was carved with a woodburner to create the ropes, and painted using Indian ink and acrylics using the dry brush technique.
